Vague descriptions, missing history, oddly limited photographs and a price that makes no sense deserve investigation before you travel to see the car.
Read what the advert does not say
If an advert celebrates alloy wheels and Bluetooth but says nothing about servicing, number of keys or recent maintenance, ask. Marketing details are not a substitute for ownership evidence.
Look for inconsistencies
Check that mileage, equipment level, registration year and description make sense together. Compare the advert with MOT history and the car itself.
A bargain needs an explanation
Cars can be genuinely cheap because a seller wants a quick sale, but a price far below comparable examples should make you slower, not faster. Find the reason before handing over money.
A convincing advert is only the beginning; verify the car, then check what it will cost you to insure before money changes hands.
